This blog is about my year around the world as a Thomas J. Watson Fellow. I will be going to India, Italy, Thailand, Ethiopia, Canada, Mexico, and Peru. Throughout the year I will be studying Seed Saving and the in-situ preservation of Genetic Diversity around the world. The research proposal for which I have been awarded a fellowship is titled, "Crops and Cultures: The Preservation of Heirloom Varieties."

I am interested in finding out who in Italy is working in the preservation of seeds ... any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Ciao Charris, I'm Francesca, I am italian and pretty new on the seeds and agricultural stuff.
So, here are the only things I can tell you:
http://www.archeologiaarborea.org/inglese.html (the only site translated in english)
also, "Civiltà Contadina": http://www.biodiversita.info/modules/civiltacontadina/index.php?id=29
and then this: http://amicidellorto.splinder.com/
I can help with translations, in case you need help. (I have been emailing with someone from "amici dell'orto" and they're nice).
this is my personal email: francescaaah@gmail.com
