This blog is about my year around the world as a Thomas J. Watson Fellow. I will be going to India, Italy, Thailand, Ethiopia, Canada, Mexico, and Peru. Throughout the year I will be studying Seed Saving and the in-situ preservation of Genetic Diversity around the world. The research proposal for which I have been awarded a fellowship is titled, "Crops and Cultures: The Preservation of Heirloom Varieties."

What a fine assemblage of photos of a talented and dedicated culture there in Peru! Wish I were there to see it all.
Can't wait to hear about the search for the Forbes heritage in Greece...Hope we in the US will understand the critical nature of preserving culture and seeds. Your work is so important. Thank you for sharing it on this blog.
The colors of India, Thailand and now Preu transport us who view your blog. Your family and friends all miss you and look forward to growing from your knowledge and experiences.
